“The right home isn’t just a house, it’s your next chapter.”

I Came Looking for Purpose and Found a Home

Some nights after work, I’m driving home and it hits me:
“ America is my home now.”

That thought still makes me pause.

Because the truth is, going back to Indonesia now feels more like a vacation. The place I was born will always have a special place in my heart—but my life, my home, has been built here.

And when I think about who I was when I first arrived in the United State, I realize something clearly:

I was given a second chance.

I Moved Here at 21—Naive and Searching

I moved to America when I was 21.

I didn’t know much. I was naive. The only thing I knew was that I wanted to find my purpose and build a life that actually meant something.

But honestly, I’ve been asking big questions since I was a kid. When I was around 10, I remember quietly wondering:

“Who am I? Why am I here?”

As a teenager, those questions got buried under dreams and expectations. I thought life would unfold like a movie, like a Cinderella story. You meet the right person, and everything becomes “happily ever after.”

I was wrong.

I was too naive.

A Hard Season Changed Me

There was a season in my life that felt heavy and confusing. I didn’t always know how to carry what I was feeling.

I’m sharing this not for drama, but because it’s real and I know many people have a chapter like that, even if they never talk about it.

What I do know is this:

I didn’t stay there.

God had another plan for me. And slowly, I began rebuilding one step at a time.

(If you’re in a hard season right now, please talk to someone you trust or reach out to a professional. You don’t have to carry it alone.)

Little by Little, I Rebuilt My Mindset

After that season, I started working on myself in a real way not the “aesthetic” kind, but the kind that actually changes you.

I started realizing:

  • Purpose doesn’t show up all at once.
  • Purpose is built through small choices repeated over time.
  • Sometimes you don’t get answers immediately—you get small clues that guide your next step.

And over time, I started finding what I was looking for.

One step at a time.

Why Real Estate Matters to Me

A lot of people think real estate is just buying and selling houses.

But to me, a home is much deeper than that.

When I walk into a house, I can’t help but imagine:

  • Who lived here before?
  • What moments happened inside these walls?
  • Did someone heal here, grow here, start over here?

Because a home isn’t just a building.

A home is where people start from zero, rebuild after a hard season, and create a new chapter. And maybe because I’ve had to rebuild parts of my own life, I deeply respect what “home” truly means:

Home is where you feel safe enough to be yourself again.

I’m Grateful—Not Because Life Is Perfect, But Because I’m Still Here

I’m grateful I get to live in America. Grateful I get to build a life I once couldn’t even imagine.

And every time I drive home at night and that thought comes back “America really is my home” I know it isn’t random.

It’s the result of a long journey. A hard one. But a real one.

And if you’re building a new chapter too, I’m cheering for you.
