History of Buda
Buda was founded in 1881 when the International-Great Northern Railroad established a depot in the area. The town originally developed as a railroad and agricultural community serving nearby ranches and farms.
Today, Buda has grown into one of the fastest-growing communities south of Austin while maintaining its historic downtown and local character.
