History of Kyle
Kyle was founded in 1880 after the International and Great Northern Railroad built a line between Austin and San Antonio. Fergus Kyle and the family of David Moore donated land for the original townsite.
The city developed as a railroad and agricultural community before experiencing substantial residential and commercial growth as the Austin metropolitan area expanded southward.
